About The Sweet Taunts

The inseparable singer-songwriter duo hailing from Northern California bring a unique blend of classic rock, funk and bit of flair into their music. The band is all about delivering energetic performances with a playful vibe, which kind of fits their name.  The Sweet Taunts have a reputation for engaging with the crowd and making their shows a fun experience.

 

They have shared the stage with many notables such as Steve Morse and Ian Paice (Deep Purple), Chuck Leavell (Rolling Stones @ RRFC 2020), John Anderson (YES @ RRFC 2020), and Tommy McClendon (former guitarist of UFO), and Nashville Artist Shelly Rann. Most recently Christine as had the opportunity to perform with Nancy Wilson, Melissa Ethridge, Kathy Valentine (Gogo's), Orianthi (@RRFC 2022) Vickie Peterson (Bangles), Wynonna Judd, and Lzzy Hale (@RRFC 2023), and Pat Travers, George Lynch, Queensryche & Jason Bohnam @RRFC 2024.  In 2025, Christine was inducted into the Rock'n'Roll Fantasy Camp Hall of Fame for all her accomplishments as a flowering female guitarist.  In addition, Christine is the current Brand Ambassador for @venus_guitars, front of house production manager for The She Rocks Awards https://sherocksawards.com and serves as a board member with Women's International Music Network https://sherocksawards.com

 

Another cool thing about The Sweet Taunts is that they lean really lean into that mix of influences. They might cover a classic rock anthem one minute, then slide into something with a funky groove and then even throw in some jazzy improvisation.  They're known for keeping their sets fresh and surprising, which makes them a local favorite for live shows. Plus they're pretty community-oriented. They often play at local events, festivals, charity gig around Lodi, and have built a pretty loyal hometown following. Making them a big part of the local music family. 

 

The Sweet Taunts exemplify the spirit of support and kinship by inviting local musicians to join them during a set. Sweet Taunts had been the house band of Lodi Open Mic since 2015 (Whisky Barrel Saloon, Woodbridge Crossing and McGuire’s). They have performed at events which include the California Women’s Music Festival, First Festival Sacramento, Lodi Farmer’s Market, and were featured artists at the famous Bluebird Café in Nashville.

 

Both Dustin & Christine support each other in other band projects. Both formerly performed from 2016-2023 with Marirose Powell (1961-2024) in Mystic Moon, a Fleetwood Mac Tribute Band. Christine portraying Christine McVie and Dustin as John McVie.

 

Christine formerly performed from 2023-2025 as Nancy Wilson with Heartless-A Tribute to Heart out of Sacramento.
